United Fund: Talbot County's Community Chest

Serving Talbot County Residents Since 1956

Since its inception in 1955 as a means to organize and conduct a single, annual, community-wide fundraising campaign for local non-profit organizations, the United Fund of Talbot County has raised and distributed over $12 million in support of deserving local health and human services non-profit agencies. For over 50 years it has been a means to a better way of life for everyone who lives and works in our community.

Clients of Delmarva Community Services enjoy a supervised, safe and stimulating environment at adult daycare.

The United Fund awards funds to participating agencies for both specific programs and general operating expenses. Through the support of the United Fund and its contributors, these agencies are able to meet the underfunded human services needs within our community. And, by delivering a wide spectrum of local programs and services, they strengthen the vital fabric of Talbot County, helping shape people into good citizens who care about their community, their families and themselves.

Other than one paid executive director, all United Fund efforts in raising funds are provided by over 100 citizens volunteering their time and talents, including the all-volunteer Board of Directors composed of local active and retired businessmen and women.
